Ingredients
- 4 cups whole wheat pasta
- 3–4 tablespoons butter or olive oil
- 1 medium onion (chopped fine)
- 1–2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 7 oz. ham (optional)
- 1–1 1/2 cup frozen peas
- 1/3 cup parmesan cheese
- 2/3 cup sour cream
- salt and pepper to taste
Optional Garnish
- Parmesan cheese (warmed peas, fresh basil, tops of green onions)
Instructions
- Prepare pasta according to its directions.
- In a medium skillet add butter or olive oil and warm over medium heat. Then add onions and cook for about 5 minutes or until translucent.
- Add the garlic, ham (optional), and peas to the onions. Cook for 3-5 minutes or until warmed throughout.
- Drain pasta and return to its pot. Add sour cream and parmesan cheese. Stir until mixed thoroughly.
- Toss the onion and peas into the pasta.
- Serve and garnish as desired.
Notes
We recommend using organic ingredients when possible.
If you prefer you can mix in a tablespoon of butter to the drained noodles before adding in the sour cream and parmesan. This helps the noodles from sticking together and also adds a little extra flavor.
