I always dreamed of writing a novel. And as crazy as it may sound, writing my thriller, FAT PROFITS, is what gave me cause to take a step back from the processed food industry and re-examine its practices.
Why write a thriller?:
I often get the question, “So why did you write a thriller versus a non-fiction exposé of the food industry’s deception?” The simple answer is I’ve always loved the suspense genre, and I thought a novel would be a powerful yet entertaining way to illustrate Big Food’s greed and corruption. So blending the fast-paced action of a thriller with an insightful message about food, FAT PROFITS was born. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from over fifteen years of marketing experience it’s that storytelling is the most powerful way to communicate and influence people. Yes, facts can be compelling, but most people just don’t know which study to believe. In contrast, stories evoke emotions, and they’re how we are innately wired to communicate.
